I am going to teach you about poaching. People keep killing elephants just for the ivory tusks. Elephants are dying because of you. There about to be extinct. People want the tusks just for money. This is how people keep poaching.

I am going to teach you about dangerous jobs that can kill elephants. Mahouts whip the elephants with a stick for them to stop to pull wood down with their trunks. Their trunks start to hurt. Also, some elephants' truncks come off when the wood is too heavy. At the circus, they take elephants away from their herds. This is how logging and circuses kill elephants.

How can you save the elephants from the circus? Hey, you should save elephants by telling teh trainers to stop starving them. Also, tell them to stop whipping them. If they still do it, stop going to the circuses! This is how you can save elephants from the circus.

    In your post, you said that elephants are about to be extinct!!!??? Is this true? I knew that they were endangered, but had no idea that they are close to becoming extinct. Are ALL types of elephants close to becoming extinct? I am so saddened to hear about all of the sad things that are happening to elephants. I do not honestly know how people can be so mean to such beautiful animals. Thanks for sharing this information with me! Ms.Goodwin :)

    This is awful! I did not realize how bad circuses treated their elephants. I rarely go to the circus, but I will make sure that I only visit circuses that do not mistreat their elephants from now on. Thank you for the information!

    I can't believe that elephants have to loose their tusks just so people can have the ivory! That is so sad!

    When elephants loose their tusks from moving wood, do they die?

    You make your points very clearly first by explaining new information, then summarizing for clarity. This made it easy for me to read and I really felt like I learned a lot. I definitely don't want to pay any money for ivory jewelry or to go to the circus because I know that both of these things cause elephants to get hurt or die.

    It is a sick, sick world where people work elephants until they bleed. I cannot believe this fact is really true. I admire how passionate you became during the course of this project. Your energy really drove the group to learn more and more. I think a good summer project for you would be to find out what other animals are abused in the real world. Keep up the good work!
